Named the prettiest hotel in Key West by the New York Times List, The Gardens Hotel of Key West is an architectural and botanical treasure – listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Gardens gated and walled property houses 17 luxurious guest suites surrounded by one of Floridas oldest tropical gardens. Just steps away from Key West’s infamous Duval Street. The Gardens Hotel’s world class accommodations have won top honors from Zagat, Conde Nast, and Travel and Leisure Magazine and it’s the only hotel in Key West to be in the book 1000 Places to See Before You Die. In addition to a free-form pool and bar, fountains, large bronze statues, artwork, an aviary, a Koi pond that Ernest Hemingway reportedly fell into, and two African Spur tortoises, the property features four large antique clay water vessels called “Tinajones” – dating back to the 1700’s and crated and shipped to the US from Cuba before the embargo. This is truly the most unique and exclusive lodging establishment in Key West.
These are usually the top locations in Asia for a honeymoon:
Thailand: Phuket and Samui are the top islands for honeymooners. Other good choices that are a little cheaper would include Krabi and Koh Lanta (Chiang Mai would be an excellent choice if you want to experience nature).
Indonesia: Bali needs no introduction.
Philippines: While not as popular as Thailand and Indonesia, the Philippines have a large number of islands and getaway that could appeal to someone on a honeymoon (Boracay, Cebu).
Phuket and Bali would be the two most expensive options overall (basic information about honeymooning in either location is located below).
Note: Make sure you check the weather for any of the locations to see when there rainy seasons are. Phuket, for example, has a monsoon season that runs from May-end of October that may affect your plans.
My fiance and I are overwhelmed with info and are looking for some recommendations. Ideally, we would like to find an all-inclusive place in the caribbean with blue water and white sand. I’d originally wanted someplace in Mexico or Costa Rica, but July is rainy season there. Are the ABC islands really the best choice? We’re leaning toward Curacao, but are open to suggestions. Thank you!
What I can tell you is that Curaçao’s rainy season runs from October to February. September to August it’s always the hottest here in Curacao.
I definitely recommend travelling to Curacao. Amazing beaches and wonderful people. For the all-inclusive hotel I’d recommend the Breezes Resort.
Aruba is fun if you’re a party animal. Amazing nightlife.
Bonaire is also very nice, but to relax. There’s nothing much really going on there.
Curacao is between; fun, relaxing and many things to do.
If you decide to go to Curacao, I’d recommend visit Klein (Little) Curacao which is a small deserted island which you can only get to by boat or helicopter.
